ENTRY DETAILS

​

  • Entries may only be made online  for this particular competition. 

  • An official entry consists of two 750 ml bottles of each spirit type. (or equivalent )

  • Canned entries consist of 8 -12 oz cans.(or equivalent)

  • An online fee of $295. per entry applies.

  • Entry fee for pre-mixed cocktails, Non-alcoholic pre-mixed cocktails and mixers is $195.

  • Customers may enter directly through their TheDataStill.com account. 

  • Early bird fees may apply, please see Datastill at time of entry. 

  • All entered spirits must be available to the general public.

  • Certain classes will be subdivided by price, at the discretion of the Chief Judge.

  • Entrants must specify the suggested retail price (SRP) for each entry.

 

entries & DEADLINES

  • Completed entries and fees must be made online by the stated deadline date. See competition page for specific deadlines.  Online entries: winecompetitions.com or thedatastill.com.  No refunds for cancellations will be made after the close of entry date, however a credit may be applied toward entry into a future competition (contact Debra Del Fiorentino, debra@winecompetions.com).   

 

INSTRUCTIONS

 

  • Entrants should specify class number of entry, or a class will be selected at the discretion of the Chief Judge. A spirit can be entered in a single class only.

DELIVERY

​

  • Shipments must arrive at Express Wine Delivery by the stated date. Clearly mark boxes on all sides for "Craft Distillers Spirits Competition Entry". Indicate box 1 of 2, 2 of 2, etc. to ensure entire shipment is received.  Please ship two bottles per spirit type entered.  Please ship all entries c/o Express Wine Delivery  7970 Cameron Dr, Windsor CA, 95492.  (707) 838-8477

JUDGING METHODOLOGY AND AWARDS
 

  • The judging panels will consist of media representatives, distilling experts, spirits educators, buyers, and marketing professionals. The final decision in the Sweepstake judging round will be made by majority vote. New bottles will be opened specifically for this tasting.

​

  • Top awards and medals will include categories such as Best of the Best, Best Whiskey, Best Vodka, Best Tequila, Best Gin, Best Liqueur, Best Rum, and Best Ready to Drink. Medals will also be given for sub-categories that reach the final judging in the Sweepstakes Round. All Best of Class, Double Gold, and Gold awards recipients will receive medals. Certificates will be available for Silver and Bronze award winners on the website for downloading.

  • Medals are around 2 inches in diameter, weighing 1.5 ounces. Imprinted with the competition logo and award designation, they are not year-specific. Production takes six weeks, and they are mailed promptly after. Winners will be posted on this website and TheDataStill.com within ten working days of final judging.

NOTIFICATION

​

  • Award recipients will be notified within 10 working days of the last day of the competition.

  • Any spirits remaining at the conclusion of the judging becomes the property of Wine Competitions Management & Productions.

 

PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

​

  • Digital logos and awards are provided at no cost to all entrants. These resources are available for use for product promotion on websites, social media, or other channels as desired. Winners are permitted to display the trademarked competition logo on their websites and marketing materials, in accordance with the event owner's policies.

​

  • Logos and digital medals will be available for download on this website at the conclusion of the competition.  All winners will receive an official press release after the competition once the results are official and winners have been notified.  You may tailor it to your company's needs.
